It's always exciting to see a trend or style you've envisioned come into production. I have always admired the Matryoshka nesting dolls, owning my own hand painted collection growing up. Having an attraction to miniature anything, I always liked digging down to the tiniest doll and taking her out to play, leaving the empty shells behind. Later, growing up with an artist for a mother, I learned to appreciate all the detailed and intricate paintings each layer possessed. Sophomore year at Parsons I designed a knitwear collection inspired by these Russian dolls in my digital class, making my own digital prints and clothing designs. 1.
