On the Cusp

Growing up in Dallas, Texas, it is no surprise that Neiman Marcus has become and will always remain my home away from home. Even when I visit all the way from New York City, capital of shopping arenas and department stores, nothing can compare to stepping through those familiar glass doors, gliding into the handbag department, taking a ride down the escalators, passing the beautifully designed displays, strolling through the makeup counters and finally, grabbing a bite at the Mermaid cafe. Neiman Marcus introduced me to the infamous tweed and quilted staples of Chanel, showed me how fun fashion could be with vintage inspired garments by Marc Jacobs, and taught me how to appreciate beautiful hand work with Oscar de la Renta. This store, this home, fostered my love for fashion and
made me the designer I am today.
And with that... I am honored (and really freaking excited!) to announce that I have been chosen as 1 out of finalists in the running for the title of a Blogger on the Cusp for Cusp by Neiman Marcus. This past weekend when I was visiting family in Dallas, I thought it would be fun to feature one of my favorite outings. I serendipitiously snapped these photos moments before I found out the news that the very same place that inspired me to join the ranks as a designer, Neiman Marcus, wanted me to represent their up and coming boutique: Cusp.
As a finalist, I was asked to use $1000 to style and put together  an outfit of my choice from Cusp. Featuring labels like: Elizabeth and James, Alice + Olivia, Rag & Bone, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Splendid, Free People, Maison Scotch, Vince, Diane Von Furstenberg...

So heres where y'all come in: This week Cusp by Neiman Marcus will be posting looks from all 5 finalist, and it will be up to you to vote on your favorite outfit and blogger who you think represents the Cusp brand the best.

I cannot wait to share what I found while I was at the Cusp store in Los Angeles, so stay tuned to see how I styled my Cusp outfit!

In the meantime, here's what I wore in Dallas while I was visiting Neimans. Striped sweater by Burberry Brit, lace shorts from Free People, Isabel Marant sneaker wedges, H&M jewelry from their collaboration with Anna Dello Russo, striped beanie from Free People, shearling jacket by Andrew Marc.

  1. That is such great news to be maybe representing the place that inspired you when you were younger! I hope you can win of course. The jacket and hat really make the outfit something even more special and comfy.
