A Day at the Museum

When I was a little girl, my mother would take me to the same two places every week: The Disney Store and The Science Museum. I was into princesses and nerdy things, a strange combination, I know. My prized possessions were my microscope, my rock collection and my princess Jasmine barbies (yes, multiple Jasmines). Still to this day, I frequent The Natural History Museum to get in touch with my inner geek. This weekend I went with my boyfriend to see the bioluminescent animal exhibit, since jellyfish are a favorite of ours.

The Hall of Ocean Life is absolutely my favorite room at the museum. There is such a peaceful atmosphere as you walk around the great hall, which is filled with ambient whale noises echoing around the dimmed room. I bought these little glowing jellyfish for my nephew and niece at the gift shop, so cute!
And of course, the rock and mineral room. Such beautiful and endless inspiration. I might have to dig out my old rock collection for new fabric and scarf prints.

  1. I know the feeling, I still get sidelined by any display of cool rocks ever.

  2. looks like fun]

  3. When I was in New York I lost track of time in that museum, my mom was getting tired of me spending so much time staring at everything in each room haha. I love your photographs of the temporary collection, must be so cool being able to stop at nice museums each week. Loving your coat as well, your gloves go so well with it.
