The Cambridge Satchel Company Event

Last week I had the privilege to host an event at Bloomingdale’s promoting The Cambridge Satchel Company. I have always admired The Cambridge Satchel Company’s dedication to old-school craftsmanship, which is what makes their brand so dependable. With the release of their Spring/Summer Chelsea Collection, available in an array of pastel shades, their satchels reached a new level of chic. As a special promotion for the event I hand made custom leather key chains I designed in collaboration with The Cambridge Satchel Company. They were available in pastel colors from their Chelsea collection along with classic black and white. Each bespoke leather key chain was customized with colorful cording and variations of traditional stitches. I had a wonderful time sharing the brand’s history with new customers and telling them why I love The Cambridge Satchel Company. I cannot wait to see what colors and styles the A/W collection bring!

Drizzly Weekend

I am about to hop a train to Boston for Boston Calling Music Festival with Patrick and friends. Unfortunately it has been nothing but rain and cold weather recently. So we packed our ponchos and left out the sunblock for this weekend, but I know the music will be amazing. I am really looking forward to seeing The Shins, Andrew Bird, Dirty Projectors and so many more. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Emilee Anne and The Cambridge Satchel Company

My new Cambridge Satchel has really become my staple handbag as of late, I can't seem to go anywhere without it! With the release of their Spring/Summer Chelsea Collection, available in an array of pastel shades, their satchels reached a new level of chic. The beautiful cream color from The Chelsea Collection compliments everything perfectly. I spent Saturday window shopping around the Meat Packing District and grabbing a bite at The Spice Market, one of my favorite restaurants.

The Cat's Pajamas

Cheesy blog titles aside, I have really investing a lot of energy in this new personal uniform. See original infatuation here. And by energy I mean hours spent scouring ebay, etsy and any other vintage source on the internet for other people's pajamas... I mean, vintage sleepwear. Whenever I go thrifting I always find myself inspecting the lingerie section for anything worth buying but a lot of times I come up empty handed due to holes and stains. In my travels, I have found a few impeccable shops devoted to beautiful vintage lingerie and sleepwear, but the really gorgeous pieces from the 1920's through the 1940's that I am often drawn to are way outside my budget (Not to mention I would be terrified to wear anything from those eras because everything is so delicate and needs to be behind glass). So for now, I have found ebay and etsy to offer a pretty good selection of vintage pieces from the 1950-1970's. Once you can get past all the embarrassing photographs of people trying to model their own skimpy hand-me-downs that is.

Bottom line is, I ordered a bundle of "pettipants" last week that I have been living in. It has also been incredibly convenient since I have been sick recently and consider this the perfect loophole for wearing my pajamas to work.
